This is not a surprising development. With Democrat after Democrat announcing their candidacy for United States President in 2020 it was only a matter of time before it became less of a novelty and more of a nuisance.
Now Lilly Kofler, the U.S. Director of Behavioral Science at Hill+Knowlton Strategies in New York, has officially declared that Democrats have created a “choice overload.”
“Choice overload” occurs when an abundance of choices actually increase the difficulty of making a decision, usually with detrimental effects.
This kind of problem has recently been observed in Chicago. A recent mayoral race featured 14 radically different candidates, yet all those choices appeared daunting to voters who responded with the lowest turnout in the history of the city with a meager 33.4 percent.
This is incredibly similar to what’s shaping up for 2020. However Democrats seem to be blind to this fact as they clamor to find a candidate that can unseat President Trump. In doing so they may just accomplish the opposite and hand Trump another victory in 2020.
