Rep. Maxine Waters is facing increased scrutiny after she was outed for making questionable payments thanks to a recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) report.
The report exposes how Waters has been continuing to slide federal cash in the direction of her daughter, Karen Waters. Just in the first three months of 2019 the report shows that Waters gave her daughter $50,000 allegedly for “slate mailer management service.”
This isn’t the first time Waters has been caught either. In 2018 the FEC filed a complaint centered on Waters making payouts to her daughter.
Records spanning from 2004 to 2018 show that Waters has paid either Karen or her public relations firm, Progressive Connections, roughly $750,000.
It’s distressing that a congresswoman who sits as chair of the House Financial Services Committee would not only make such payments, but would brazenly and shamelessly continue to do so.
