Democratic Rep. Joe Kennedy III has lost against incumbent Sen. Ed Markey in their Senate primary battle. The lost from Kennedy is the first one in the state of Massachusetts since John F. Kennedy won presidency.
According to the Boston Globe, Kennedy had called up Markey to concede.
During his concession speech, Kennedy had said, “Good elections often get heated. Obviously these results are not the ones we were hoping for, but to everyone who fought with us … I am so proud of what we accomplished.”
