Sometimes there is a price to pay for upholding the law.
That’s at least the case in Ecuador as the country comes under vicious cyber attack by hackers looking to avenge the arrest of Julian Assange.
Ecuador’s deputy minister for information and communication technologies shared with the Agence France Presse that following the high profile arrest the country has been hit with 40 million attacks. Real described the origins of the attacks “principally come from the United States, Brazil, Holland, Germany, Romania, France, Austria and the United Kingdom.”
Currently, Assange is under arrest at London’s Belmarsh Prison. However the U.S. has requested his extradition as well. Will such attacks continue to follow the WikiLeaks founder?
